About the International District Housing Alliance

Our Mission

To improve the quality of life of Chinatown/International District (CID) residents and Asian Pacific Islanders of greater Seattle by providing community-building and housing-related services.

Our Goals

  • Facilitate the involvement of International District residents and others in building the CID community.
  • Provide linguistic and culturally competent housing-related programs and services.
  • Advocate for safe, clean, and affordable housing for low and moderate-income families and individuals.
  • Provide linguistic and culturally appropriate social, health and human services.
  • Assist and support low-income elderly residents of the CID neighborhood.
  • Assure the availability of quality and affordable housing in the CID and among the growing Asian and Pacific Islander immigrant and refugee populations in Seattle.
  • Improve the health and safety of residents in the CID and Asian Pacific Islanders in greater Seattle.
  • Educate and support disenfranchised residents to empower themselves and advocate on their own behalf.
  • Enhance the sense of community among low-income Asian and Pacific Islanders.
  • Strengthen collaborations with agencies serving the CID and Asian Pacific Islanders in greater Seattle.
  • Strengthen collaborations between the CID and other Seattle communities of Asian Pacific Islanders.
